Florida Winter Baseball Set For October Launch

                 The Florida Winter Baseball League, a winter independent professional league will open its season on October 16. The new four team loop will play all of its games in South Florida in a six week season.  
                 All league players will be signed to player contracts by their respective teams and receive a salary for the season.
                 The initial league event was a pro showcase, held on Sunday, May 31, drew players from all over the country. Scouts from several organizations were also on hand.
                 The league will continue to schedule tryouts throughout the summer.
